Exploring the Artistry of Peter Brown
Born in 1979, grew up in Hopewell, New Jersey, it was there he found his love of storytelling as a child. He wrote his first picture book at the age of six. Teachers noted his passion for drawing and immediately began placing him in advanced art instruction. As a child, he used his pictures to speak for him, but as he got older, he began to find the power of words. Later in life, Peter attended the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena California, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration. After graduation, Peter moved to New York City so that he could be closer to the publishing industry. While in New York, Peter began working on animated TV shows, and soon after he signed a book deal to write and illustrate his first picture book, Flight of the Dodo. Following that, Peter quickly signed up for his second and third books, and his career as an author and illustrator began to take off. Peter has written and illustrated
