Panayiotas Griva was born in Kotel, Bulgaria to Sarakatsan * parents. He graduated from the music school in the city which was born with a drum and traditional song (1993-1998). He then studied at the Academy of Music and Dance in Plovdiv (Plovdiv) with a traditional song and conducting traditional orchestra and choir (1998-2003). He first sang Greek traditional songs in Sarakatsan's crossroads in Bulgaria in the summer of 1999. He then collaborated with many renowned artists of the area at cultural club events.
